Residency for the foreign spouse of an existing KITAS or KITAP holder, running alongside the primary permit.

What it actually is.
A dependent-status KITAS for foreign nationals joining a spouse who already holds a KITAS or KITAP in Indonesia. The permit runs for the same period as the primary permit and is renewed alongside it. It is not a work-permitted status on its own. If the spouse intends to work in Indonesia, that requires a separately sponsored work permit or a different visa route.

Where the line sits.
It lets you
Live in Indonesia for the duration of the primary permit, and renew alongside it
Enter and exit multiple times without secondary approval
Convert to KITAP eventually if the primary permit converts or the relationship duration qualifies
It does not let you
Work for or invoice any Indonesian entity without a separate work permit
Continue on E31B once the primary permit is cancelled or lapses. Dependent status ends with the sponsor’s status
Sponsor further dependents. Only the primary permit holder sponsors family

Passport valid for at least 18 months
Marriage certificate, legalised and translated if issued outside Indonesia
Primary KITAS holder’s permit copy and sponsorship letter
Bank statements for the last three months showing at least USD 2,000 or equivalent, from any country, in English
A recent colour photograph
Verify sponsorship
Confirm the primary permit is valid and eligible to sponsor a spouse, coordinate the sponsorship letter.
Prepare and file
Assemble the marriage documents, translations, and application, submit through the immigration portal.
Arrival and biometrics
Coordinate arrival formalities and address registration.
Synchronise and renew
Track the primary permit’s expiry so both permits renew aligned and neither lapses.
