01
The permit

What it actually is.

A bridging visa is a stay permit, not an entry visa. It exists so that someone already inside Indonesia can change status onto a KITAS without flying out and applying again from abroad. It runs sixty days, it cannot be extended, and it is valid only while you remain in the country. Leave, and it lapses automatically, and the conversion starts again from outside. It is the mechanism behind in-country status changes onto a Working KITAS, a Spouse KITAS, or a dependent permit.

Built for

Visitors already in Indonesia who have been offered a role and need a Working KITAS

Foreign spouses converting onto a Spouse KITAS while already in the country

Children and other dependants converting onto a dependent permit alongside the sponsor

02
Scope

Where the line sits.

It lets you

Change status onto a Working KITAS, Spouse KITAS, or dependent permit without leaving Indonesia

Stay legally for up to sixty days while the conversion is processed

Keep an application running without restarting it from abroad

It does not let you

Enter Indonesia. It is issued only to people already in the country

Leave and return. The moment you depart it lapses and the conversion restarts from outside

Work while the conversion is under way. Work rights begin only when the KITAS issues

What we handle
1

Confirm the route

Check that your current status can bridge, and that the target KITAS and its sponsor are in place.

2

Sponsor and file

Coordinate the employer’s role as sponsor, assemble the conversion documents, submit through the immigration portal.

3

Bridge and monitor

Track the sixty days from issue so the KITAS lands before the bridge expires.

4

KITAS issuance

Complete the status change and hand over the e-ITAS once it is issued.
