A single-entry visa arranged before travel, for stays longer than Visa on Arrival allows or nationalities off the VoA list.
A single-entry visa applied for before travelling to Indonesia. C1 covers general visits including tourism, family, and social purposes. C2 is oriented toward specific business or professional purposes that do not fit as multiple-entry travel. It is the route for people whose nationality is not eligible for Visa on Arrival, or whose stay needs to run longer than the sixty days a VoA allows.
Nationals of countries not covered by Visa on Arrival
Longer single visits up to 60 days, extendable to 180 in specific cases
Family or social visits where a business justification is not required
Stay in Indonesia for up to 60 days on a single entry, with defined extension paths
Handle personal, social, family, or general purposes on a single trip
Extend from within Indonesia in permitted circumstances
Re-enter Indonesia on the same visa after departing. Single entry only
Work, take up employment, or receive local salary of any kind
Stay beyond 180 days in total. Past that the visit route is exhausted and a different visa is needed
Passport valid for at least 6 months
Return or onward flight ticket, required for C1 extensions rather than the initial application
Proof of accommodation for the stay
Reason letter or invitation appropriate to the purpose
Bank statements for the last three months showing at least USD 2,000 or equivalent, from any country, in English, with the account holder’s name, the period, and the balance clearly shown

Check whether your nationality and purpose actually need C1 or C2 rather than VoA or a multiple-entry business route.
Assemble the purpose-specific documents and application, submit through the immigration portal.
Receive the e-Visa and walk through what to expect at your entry point.
Plan an in-country extension if the visit runs longer, or transition to a KITAS in-country through a bridging visa if the stay becomes residency.
If the visit becomes recurring rather than one-off.
